Congratulations on reaching the final. Score-wise, and in terms of time spent, it wasn’t a very hard match. What did you make of it?
Maybe the score doesn’t say it, but I think it was a tough match today. We had a lot of long rallies and she really made me work hard for every point.
It looks from aside that you’re playing your career-best tennis – I would say Top 5-level, easily. Would you agree with this assessment and how would you explain such tremendous progress?
I’m playing really well, but my ranking is not Top 5. Hopefully it will be one day, but I just have to keep working hard and hopefully I will get there.
If we look at the projected rankings, you’re ranked No.25 right now. Does this meet your plans and ambitions, and where do you see yourself in the future?
I don’t want to call any numbers, I definitely want to see myself higher at the end of the year. But the year is long and for now I just want to focus on tomorrow and hopefully I will win, and that will be good for the rankings. But most importantly I need to keep improving on the court and working a lot on my fitness. And if I keep doing the right things, the ranking will follow.
