The Dutch Kiki Bertens won the champion’s title at St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy 2019 defeating the Croat Donna Vekic – 7/6(2), 6/4. The match lasted 1 hour 40 minutes. Kiki was 2/5 down in the first set, but then she managed to win 12 of 13 next points and won the first set in a tie-breaker. Vekic made a double fault on break-point when the score was 4/4 in the 2nd set. Bertens began to celebrate a bit earlier at 5/4, 40:0 but the Donna made a challenge and Hake Eye showed the ball after Vekic shot was in. Donna leveled the score in that game making it deuce from triple match-point. But Kiki clinched the win with a lucky netball.

 «I remember in my mind the last time I was playing Donna I had match-points, too, and then I lost the match. So I was really focused there and I am happy I managed to finish it in that game. It is great to be hereIt was a great week. It was a great support today, so thank you, guys, for coming», – said the Dutch happily.

St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy is Kiki’s 8 th career title.
