BEGU RAN AWAY FROM MARTINCOVA TO REACH THE SEMI-FINALS
The Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu cruised past the Czech Tereza Martincova 6/4, 6/2 in just one hour and 24 minutes. Irina-Camelia aced 6 times and made 4 double faults. Tereza made 1 ace and 1 double fault.
«I was playing really aggressive from the beginning. I was really focused and calm during all the match. I served really well today. Playing aggressive, taking the ball early, trying to play with some spin as well helped me a lot. Overall I think it was a very good match», – said Irina-Camelia in her on-court interview.
She will vie with the winner of the match Maria Sakkari (Greece) vs Elise Mertens (Belgium) for a spot in the finals.
